Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

Well, Read Across America will be on Wednesday, which is Dr. Seuss's birthday. What are you doing in your classroom? We will be reading a Dr. Seuss book each day this week. I am creating standards based activities to accompany each book.

Today we read, Mr. Brown can Moo, Can You? It was so funny. The kids thought it was hilarious because our assistant principal's name is Mr. Brown.

Tomorrow, we will be reading One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish. Here are the skills that can be covered from the story:

comprehension, inference, color words, rhyming, number words, opposites, and counting sets. Take a look at what I have put together. The bag is from Target's One spot, and the fish are cut from the Animal Kingdom cart @ 3" and 2".

Jump rope for heart!

Tomorrow, my DD and her classmates will be participating in Jump Rope for Heart. They have been discussing children whose hearts are not healthy. So, they needed to get donations from family and friends for this worthy cause. My daughter wants to be a heart hero, so of course, mom made her a heart hero shirt. Tell me what you think.

My vinyl

Ok I did try my hand with the heat vinyl. Here are my end results:
My DD takes tap and wanted a shirt to wear over her leotards. The blue onesies have the word b-a-b-y spelled out using white heat vinyl transfer.
I made some onesies, I will try and locate a picture. they were so cute. the baby will be here tomorrow. Kayla, God is going to Bless and keep you. PRAY, without ceasing. Jaiden, can't wait to kiss your little face.

Need a coupon?

Hey all, I have always wanted one of those ATG guns. Guess what......I got it with my Michael's 50% coupon. Click, print and go get yours. Also check your local Target store. The one near me has their Cricut items like 50% price. I got the cricut tool kit, the deep cut blade, and some extra blades for the regular (green) blade house.

Shower Pt. 2

We had a cookie and milk bar at the party. The blue paper shown says " Welcome Baby". I made three of these and they were laminated. The guests were able to write sentiments on it. The bottle, rattle, and onesie were a part of the name Game. All guests received a name tag with a baby word on it. No one could call each other by name, only by the baby word written on their tag. If you were caught calling a guest by their real name, you had to put money in the bottle bank, which was for the baby. I also made cupcake picks for the yummy cupcakes, which were purchased at Sam's club!

Baby shower favors/games

Here are some of the items that were made for the shower. I also made some shirts and I will upload those pictures later. The Kayla dolls were a scratch and win game. If you found a baby after scratching the scratch off on her belly, you won. I also made lots of chocolates: chocolate dipped pretzels, nut clusters, white chocolate popcorn, and vanilla flavored lollys. Kayla also wore this mother to be hat that I made on my cricut.

Baby Shower

On saturday, I did a baby shower for my niece. I was so excited that she allowed me to have free reign! Here is a picture of the beautiful mother to be. She has an identical twin, very beautiful girls. Can't wait to see Jaiden! Thanks again Kayla.
