Your Story

I posted a picture of the Your Story machine earlier. There are two machine. The larger machine that I showed binds and laminates. Here is a picture of the smaller one that I have with a project created for my DD. It is a writing journal. We write letters to each other in the journal. How sweet is that. Something she can cherish. You can also bind photos and send as a thank you or a present. You can also take the pictures of a party or shower, upload to Walgreens, wait an hour, bind, and everyone can take a souvenir home. COOL!!

Valentine's Day is around the corner. If you are tired of the store bought cards here are two ideas I found so far. Guess what??? You can print as many as you like for free. Visit, printable class valentine), ( valentine book marks), ( valentinephone text and treat) and (guitar)

Happy Birthday Martin Luther King

Happy Birthday Dr. King. On tomorrow, we, my class, will be discussing Dr. King. We will read the book Happy Birthday Martin Luther King. After the reading, students will answer comprehensive questions and create a response to literature by writing a few sentences about the book. they will then create a MLK doll. Here is the recipe:

All paper came from Recollections card stock, which is available at Michaels. The packages are on sale 2 for $5.oo this week.

I used the Paper Doll Dress Up cart. The promboy suit ( #4) was used as well as the assessories ( hair , shoes, tie). The doll was cut using black out and all items were cut at 6". I used Peachy Keen basic paper doll face stamps.

My Box

Here is my box that was made from the Spring Holiday cards cricut cart. I actually made the last box that's available on the cart. I added the flower embellishment just to see what it would look like.

Look at this!

Provocraft has come out with several new carts and I am in cricut love with them all. Over at, Tammy created the most adorable Valentine's box using the Spring Holiday cards carttridge. I am about to try out this cart. I will show you what I came up with.

Cricut Carts

OK, here we go! Indeed there are 46 carts in my cricut library.

How many carts do I actually have????

I am a cricut lover. My DD is too! We have the cricut expression and the personal cutter. I keep the smaller one in my classroom, thanks to my DH. I do bring it home on the weekends for my DD to use. She makes vinyl words and objects for her room.

Back to the carts. How many do I have? I estamated 30, but when I went through to put them in alphabetical order, I realized that I had 46 cricut cartridges. OMG! I will list and take a picture of them for you. I will also show you how I store them.

Take a look!!

I posted a picture of all of my wonderful machines. Now take a look at how the Cricut works. Visit this site:

What is a Cricut???

Some of you may be wondering what a Cricut is. No, it is not the insect you put at the end of a finsing line. Before my daddy passed, I told him what I got for Christmas. His response was," why did your husband buy you crickets?" LOL! I really miss you daddy!

Here is a picture of this fabulous machine. You can also go to you tube and watch demonstrations as well. I also have a yudu, that we will be trying out soon ( long time coming). I recently purchased the Your Story machine. Very inexpensive machine. Please google or do a search on youtube so you can see each of these machine at work. Here is a picture of each.

Snow day!

This is what we have done during the snow days!

These are for the four seasons of course. I am finishing up Spring and I will post it later. Each item will have a magnet attached to the back so students can sort the pictures. I also plan to make children using the everyday paper doll cricut cartridge.

Cricut in the classroom

Since we have been out of school for a week due to the snow, I have had a lot of time to spend with my family and do some instructional things for my classroom. I count it all a blessing. Here are a few snow pics and the instructional items.
The instructional items you see are for the skill more and less. Students will work cooperatively to make sets and then individually with smaller versions. I also created homework sheets to go along with these. I will take a pic and if you are interested in the sheets I can email you.
